One a Day

There are many things that just "aren't me". When it comes to fitness, step aerobics is NOT ME. I can never keep up and spend more time figuring things out then working out and somehow during a class I kicked the risers from under my step causing quite a commotion. NOT FOR ME.

Something that ANYONE can do and something that my friend Heather and I are doing this year is the 1 mile a day. JUST 1 MILE A DAY!!! It takes a max of 15 minutes out of your day  to walk a mile and it will be so cool to say you did 365 miles (or more!!)  at the end of the year. So, on top of workouts I am making sure to get that in, and if I can't get to a class for some reason or to the gym I will at LEAST take a 1 mile stroll. I am tracking all miles this year and will put a grand total on my blog on December 31st. How cool is that?? Year total so far is 11 miles so I am ahead of the game.

The thing I really enjoy about running and walking is that its a no brainer workout. You do not have to think about keeping up with an instructor or increasing weights....you just do it. And its awesome if you have someone to do it with. Yesterday at work a coworker and I took the students to a forest preserve where there was a 1 mile loop. The time went so fast because we walked and chatted about work, baby stuff, etc. Before I knew it we had walked 2 miles.

So that is the goal.... 1 a day. I will track it in my planner and look forward to seeing how far I walk/run this year.
